Roderic Southwell is a mediator, conflict coach + suicide alertness educator with a background in psychology. He has nearly a decade of experience facilitating interpersonal, workplace + community mediations.
Roderic is a Qualified Mediator (Q.Med) who supports individuals, families, and teams in navigating conflict and building clarity. With a background in Psychology + Business Administration, and specialized training in Alternative Dispute Resolution, he brings a calm, structured process to difficult conversations. His approach blends facilitative + interest-based methods with a deep understanding of interpersonal dynamics, emotional safety + equity. In mediation, Roderic focuses on clarity of process, respectful communication, and agreements clients can sustain beyond the room. He leads conflict resolution services + works diligently to develop practical next-step agreements; supporting families (excluding divorce/separation), colleagues, and community groups towards the best outcomes. His work is grounded in discretion, cultural responsiveness, and a commitment to restoring relationships through dialogue.
In addition to his mediation practice, Roderic is a suicide alertness educator. He is ASIST-trained and a certified SafeTALK trainer. He has designed + facilitated trainings on suicide alertness, conflict skills, and non-violent communication.
Originally from Antigua & Barbuda, Roderic remains actively engaged in Caribbean community initiatives across the GTA. He brings a diasporic lens to his work, valuing processes that validate diverse experiences while building durable, self-determined resolutions. His practice is informed by years of frontline crisis response, community engagement + a belief that when people have the space, the tools + language to be heard = change will follow.
